Alison Young lives a dual life as musician and solo long-distance backpacker – she has trekked on six continents, and in a single year walked both New Zealand’s Te Araroa, the “long pathway,” and the arduous Pacific Crest Trail. Now, through music and images, she’ll share with us her enthusiasm for the intersection of music and hiking, revealing how classical composers who walked in nature – Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Wagner among them – were inspired to compose some of the most enduring music ever written.
